A Quick Question Regarding Fat Upgrades

Are you guys experiencing a problem with the "Digestion Efficiency" upgrade not doing anything at all? For some reason I'm having an issue where it doesn't do anything right now... and I can't figure out why. All I did was up the amount it boosted a little, and I haven't touched anything else regarding the upgrade.
